Titus Okunronmu | Who will buy Nigeria's assets?

Dr Titus Okunronmu, a former Director in the Budgetary Department, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has said that selling the country’s assets to boost the economy will further restrict income.

Okunronmu in Ota, Ogun, said that rather than restrict income the government should redistribute income through untapped resources.

According to him, selling the assets to those in government means that income has further been restricted instead of redistributing income.

Edo Guber | NSCDC deploys 20,000 personnel for Polls

Abdullahi Gana, the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has directed the immediate deployment of 20,000 personnel for the Edo governorship election scheduled for Sept. 28. 

Information about the directive is contained in a statement issued by Assistant Commandant (AC) Emmanuel Okeh, Corps Public Relations Officer in Abuja on Monday.

Borno Government Says It Requires N30 Billion To Reconstruct Bama

The Borno State Government said on Monday that it required about N30 billion for the reconstruction of structures damaged by Boko Haram insurgents in Bama.

The Commissioner of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement, Dr Babagana Umara, stated this while speaking with newsmen in Bama Local Government Area of the state.

Umara explained that more than 10,000 private houses were destroyed by insurgents in the town.

The prices of food items in Bauchi State have continued to crash after months of high food prices.

Reports reveal that the prices of food items have dropped by 50% in the state.

A bag of maize which few months ago was going for N18,000 now sells for N9,000 while local rice that used to cost N35,000 is now being sold at N20,000, a grain seller at Muda Lawal Market, Bauchi, Malam Adamu Kafin Maigari said.

Benue State | Three suspected kidnappers arrested (PHOTO)

Benue State Police Command have arrested 3 suspected kidnappers in Ohimini Local Government Area of the state.

Transgender couple give birth to first ever own biological baby

A transgender man, Fernando Machado who was assigned female at birth and his partner Diane Rodriguez, who was assigned male at birth, gave birth to a healthy child after conceiving with his transgender wife, making the couple the first transgender couple in South America to do so.

The couple who gave birth in June, live in Ecuador have expressed their desire to have more children.
