The Bayelsa State Chief Judge's son Wariebi Abiri, a Law student, unfortunately drowned in a swimming pool at a hotel in Abuja on Friday August 19th as students gathered to celebrated the end of lectures for the year. Apparently some students who were around when the incident happened were locked up for days, one of them however blogged about it. Thirteen children and 15 adults were rescued from the premises with an inscription, “Mimo Mimo Mimo Safulaijah”, situated in a valley on the estate.

Daniel Harris, 29, who used sign language to communicate, led trooper Jermaine Saunders on an eight-mile (13-kilometer) chase on Thursday that started on an interstate highway and ended outside his home in Charlotte, local television station WSOC reported.

The driver exited his vehicle in the neighborhood and an “encounter took place” that led to a shot being fired, North Carolina State Highway Patrol spokesman Sergeant Michael Baker said in a statement.
