Recently, reports went viral of a secondary school girl who was allegedly flogged unclad by her father after she was caught having sex at her home in Uburu in Ohaozara LGA of Ebonyi state.  Well, there seems to be a new twist to the story as fresh report reveals that she is an orphan and she was allegedly dehumanized by some men including policemen and a politician in her area...

Execution of Humphrey Ejike | Prosecution Watchdog to file complaints against Indonesia Attorney General

The Commission for Public Prosecutions (Komjak) will file a complaint against Attorney General H.M. Prasetyo for what it claims was the unlawful execution of two death-row prisoners, whose clemency applications were still being processed. 

Prasetyo has been deemed careless for ordering the execution of Nigerian citizen Humphrey Ejike Eleweke and Senegalese Seck Osmane on the notorious Nusakambangan prison island in Cilacap, Central Java, on July 29.

A militant group, the Niger Delta Revolutionary Crusaders, NDRC, has warned against attacks on Christians and churches in the north.

NDRC gave the warning while responding to threats by the new Boko Haram leader, Abu Masab el Barnawi, who had last Wednesday threatened to burn down churches and kill Christians.

In a statement by its spokesperson, W O I Izon-Ebi, the group said it will carry out reprisal attacks on Muslims and mosques in the oil-rich region if Boko Haram attacks Christians.

NEMA Urgently Warns Nearby Communities to Vacate as River Niger Will Soon Overflow

The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has advised communities along the river Niger to evacuate immediately to safer ground.

The warning came following intense rainfall and rise in water level. There is the likelihood of floods occuring there any moment from now.

Daily Post reports that the Director General of NEMA, Muhammad Sani Sidi who gave the advice on Saturday said the agency has received alerts of the flood from information given by the authorities in the Republic of Niger that the present water level in the river had reached a point that may result in the flood that could be compared with the unfortunate experience of 2012.
