Budget Padding | APC bars Lawmakers from talking to Media Houses

The Leadership of the All Progressives Congress has gagged the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; and a former chairman of Appropriation Committee, Abdulmunin Jibrin, and other lawmakers from talking to media houses regarding the new lexicon in the Nigeria political sphere, Budget Padding.

According to an anonymous source, The APC has written to the leadership of the House of Representatives and also copied to other lawmakers  elected on its Political platform, gagging everyone of them from making statements concerning the issue.

Reports reaching TheBreakingTimes has it that Yakubu Dogara, Speaker of the House of Representatives is currently in a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Yakubu Dogara,  arrived Mr. President’s office in Aso Rock for a closed door meeting at about 2.30pm, following the recent allegations by the former Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin that the leadership of the  lower chamber of the Nigerian Senate padded the 2016 budget.

Nigerian Woman Arrested On Indo-nepal Border With 3.5 Kg Of Cocaine

Press Trust of India has reported the arrest of a Nigerian woman for smuggling cocaine worth Rs 17.8 crore in Gorakhpur region of Uttar Pradesh, on Indo-Nepal border on Thursday, August 4th. 

The woman identified as Veneeta, 36, was arrested while she was coming from Nepal and 3.5 kilogram was recovered from her possession, Chandra Sekhar Azad, an NIA Inspector, said. She has been booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, he added.

Five Dead After Villagers Mistook Soldiers For Invading Herdsmen

At least five persons were reported dead, two injured and four vehicles destroyed, Thursday, following the invasion of Kpaidma village in Bosso Local Government Area of Niger State by a joint military team of the Army and the Air Force.

The military team reportedly stormed the village around 1am in search of arms and ammunition in the village.

There were allegations that weapons were stockpiled in the village, hence, the invasion.
