Ali Modu Sheriff says Anenih No Longer PDP Bot Member

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party led by Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff, has said that a former Minister of Works, Chief Tony Anenih is no longer a member of Board of Trustees of the party.

It said Anenih voluntarily resigned from the Board instead of responding to the query issued to him for alleged anti-party activities in 2015.

Anenih, a former chairman of the Board was queried for alleged anti-party activities in Imo State in 2015, but instead of replying the query, he said he was resigning from the Board.

The Delta State Police Command has confirmed that a man chopped off the hand of a member of his extended family over land dispute.

The suspect, Mr Jude Boroh, had allegedly attacked Morgan Ekure, a civil servant with the Delta State government, with a cutlass.

The spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, SP Celestina Kalu confirmed the incident which happened in Emevor, Isoko North Local Government Area of the state.

A 34-year-old Kenyan man allegedly chopped off the hands of his wife of seven years with a large knife because she cannot have children, in what is said to be the most atrocious cases of domestic violence.

28-year-old Jackline Mwende from Kathama Village, Masii in Machakos County, had her hands chopped off at the wrist by her husband, Stephen Ngila Thenge (right) on July 24. 

She is also nursing injuries on her head and neck from the gruesome attack. Relatives say the couple had been having issues and Ms Mwende wanted to leave her husband but was advised against it by "their pastor"

28-year-old Man Docked For Defiling Minor In A Mosque

A 28-year-old man, Modiu Diallo, who allegedly defiled a 7-year-old girl in a mosque was on Monday arraigned in a Surulere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.

The accused with no fixed address is facing a three-count charge bordering on r*pe.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Anthonia Osayande, told the court that the accused committed the offence at about 6:00a.m., on July 13, at Iponri Central Mosque, Surulere, Lagos.

Nigeria Customs Service confiscates 24,273 cartons of smuggled poultry products worth over N256m

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone ‘C’, Owerri recently seized a total of 24,273 cartons of imported frozen poultry products, valued at N256,264,200. In a press statement released by the Public Relations Officer of the Unit, Onuigbo Ifeoma, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Haruna Mamudu said that the items which were cleverly and deceitfully concealed in a Scania truck with an inscription ‘DHL’ were seized on the Benin axis in Edo State. Three suspects were also arrested in connection with the illegal business.
