Abia State IRS publish document to prove that Ikpeazu tax clearance is NOT Fake

Abia State Internal Revenue Service has reacted to the alleged fake tax clearance certificate the state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, reportedly presented during the state's PDP governorship primaries in 2014. According to a statement released by the state's internal revenue service this morning, the tax certificates of Ikpeazu are not fake and were duly issued by them.

There is tension in the state currently after a High court in Abuja ordered Ikpeazu to vacate his office after his opponent in the state's PDP governorship primaries, Uche Ogar, proved to the court that Ikpeazu tendered fake tax credentials to their party. The attention of the Abia State Internal Revenue Service has been drawn to a court judgement of the Federal High Court Abuja on the tax clearance certificate issued to Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu by the Service, and hereby makes the following clarifications:

Christian Dating Site instructed to pay two gay men $459,000 and accept gay singles on their website

A US dating website, Christian Mingle, meant for only straight people, has now been ordered by a judge to accept Gay and lesbian singles to their website database. This was due to a class-action suit filed in 2013 by two gay men against Sparks Networks Inc., the owner of Christian Mingle & several other dating sites. The suit alleged that Christian Mingle violated California's anti-discrimination law. 

Two gay men filed class actions claimed that the website excluded users looking to meet singles of the same sex. ChristianMingle, which is the largest online community for Christian singles in the US, required new users to specify whether they’re a man seeking a woman or a woman seeking a man.

Woman Threatens to Kill Man With Axe For Refusing to Have Sex With Her

A woman was arrested on a charge of assault after allegedly trying to kill a man for refusing to have sex with her, according to police in Florida.

The Ocala Police Department said that they have arrested 26-year-old Leslie Mills, after kicking in a bathroom door and swinging the axe in the man’s face.

Mills has been charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and domestic battery. She was booked into jail, and her bail was set at $5,500.

Unidentified Man Killed by Cultist in Benue

An unidentified man was shot in the head by suspected cultists at Titogate, a very busy area along Kashim Ibrahim road in Makurdi, Benue State yesterday July 3rd. Eyewitnesses told Benue.com.ng that the deceased came to the area at about 6pm to purchase a phone when two gunmen on a motorcycle approached and shot him in the head. He died instantly.

Police recover Eight Stolen Cars from Syndicate (PHOTO)

The operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of Lagos State Police Command, has recovered eight stolen vehicles from a member of a syndicate specializing in trans-border crime and stealing vehicles in Lagos and moving them to Ogun and neighbouring countries to sell.

The operatives of RRS, who were working on a reported case of stolen Toyota Corolla from where it was parked in Ikeja Business District, Lagos, tracked the vehicle on Thursday night to a compound in Kobape, Abeokuta, belonging to a car dealer.

According to the report, It was gathered that the Toyota Corolla, grey, 2004 model with registration number, KRD 759, belonging to Mrs. Olaitan Lawal, was removed from the car park during a church programme at Ikeja, at about 6:00 pm on Thursday before it was found around 1:00 a.m. on Friday.

Six die in a drastic accident along Ajaokuta-Ayangba Road

The Federal Road Safety Commission in Kogi says six persons died on Saturday in an accident on the Ajaokuta-Itobe-Ayangba road in the state.

The state Sector Commander of the commission in Kogi, Ogochukwu Ugboma, stated in a statement that 12 other persons were critically injured in the crash which occurred in the afternoon in a head-on-collision.

He stated that the collision was between a Toyota passenger bus marked BENUE MKD 841 XA and a Volkswagen Golf car marked KOGI LKJ 335 CV.

Borno State Government says they only received N345 million to help IDPs

The Borno Government says it has so far received cash donations of N345 million for the upkeep of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state.

Governor Kashim Shettima stated this while speaking with journalists in Maiduguri on Sunday.

He said the state never received any cash donation from international donors for IDPs in the last four years.

“I want to say that many Nigerians may be shocked to know that a total of N345 million is the overall amount received as cash donation by the state government from May 2011 to date,” he said.

MASSOB Calls for Referendum

The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has renewed its earlier call for a referendum for Biafra separation from Nigeria.

MASSOB, in a press statement issued on Sun­day by its Leader, Uchenna Madu, argued that refer­endum remained the only solution to the various agitations for self determi­nation by different people groups in the country.

The pro- Biafra group advised the President Mu­hammadu Buhari-led Fed­eral Government to better brace up for a referendum as recently done by the Brit­ish government instead of the unnecessary clamping down on agitators.

Kidnapped Babcock Graduate finally released, Two Friends in custody

Babcock University graduate, Justina Anochie, who was kidnapped by gunmen last Sunday, has regained her freedom.

The Ogun State Police Command said it arrested two suspects in connection with the kidnap, adding that the abductors dropped her off in Odogbolu area of the state on Friday when they realized the police were closing in on them.

The police said no ransom was paid for her release. However, a source said money was paid to the kidnappers, adding that she was in good health.

Justina finished her studies at the Babcock University in June, 2016. She was reported to have returned to her private residence in the university community, where some gunmen kidnapped her.

How EFCC Finally arrested Omisore over N1.3 Billion NSA fund

Several months after being declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, former Osun State Deputy Governor, Senator Iyiola Omisore, was yesterday arrested by the operatives of the commission in Abuja.

The top Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  bigwig was taken into EFCC custody in Abuja for questioning and there were indications last night he might be arraigned in court over the receipt of N1.3 billion by three firms allegedly owned by him from the former National Adviser to the President, Sambo Dasuki.

According to the commission, the money was moved from the ONSA and paid into the accounts of firms linked to a former Defence Minister, Musiliu Obanikoro and his sons, before being transferred to the company linked to Omisore. *Omisore The former deputy governor has since denied any wrongdoing and filed a suit against the EFCC for declaring him wanted while he is in court to challenge the agency for its infringement on his fundamental rights. A spokesman for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the arrest of Omisore but did not give details. He only said the former Senator was arrested in his house in Abuja and taken into custody.
