Governor Oshiomhole says PDP is Dead and Buried In Edo

(PDP) is dead and buried in the state, maintaining that the party can never be resurrected. Oshiomhole made the remark yesterday at a meeting with party leaders from the three senatorial districts of the state, during which he urged the people to imbibe the spirit of oneness ahead of the September 10 governorship election.

The governor, who expressed joy with the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election, Mr Godwin Obaseki, said “the primary purpose of our party is to continue to work hard, not just to hold on to power for its own sake, but to hold on to power so that we can sustain the wheel of development in order to continue to add value and improve on the quality of lives of the great people of this great state.

Research says Taking Paracetamol During Pregnancy Leads To Having Child With Autism/ADHD

Taking paracetamol during pregnancy is linked to autism and ADHD in children, a new study claim. Boys whose mothers took the painkiller while expecting were more likely to be on the autistic spectrum while it was associated with higher rates of ADHD in both sexes.

Official guidelines say paracetamol should be taken only if necessary in pregnancy and for the shortest possible time. The latest study by Spanish researchers suggests children regularly exposed to the common medication while in the womb were more likely to show signs of both conditions.

In what has been hailed the first study of its kind, it looks at the association between the use of this drug in pregnancy and autism spectrum symptoms in children. Scientists say it is also the first study to report different effects on boys and girls.

They found those whose mothers took the drug regularly were 30 percent more likely to show impaired attention functions and an increase of two clinical symptoms of autism spectrum symptoms in boys.

Federal Government Signs MOU On $11.117bn Lagos-calabar Railway

The Federal Government has signed a contract agreement with the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) on the construction of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Railway project.

The Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi who signed on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria, said the contract is an addendum to the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Railway project which was initially awarded by the former President Goodluck Jonathan’s Administration to CCECC at a contract sum of $11.917 billion disclosing that at the inception of President Muhammadu Buhari Administration, the Federal Government renegotiated the contract with the Management of CCECC and agreed at a contract sum of $11.117 billion thereby saving a whooping sum of $800million.
