Police uses Google Earth to find body after four months of Fruitless Effort

Police officers who took three-and-a-half months to find the body of a missing man were slammed by a coroner after it was revealed they used Google Earth to search for him.

Ricky Hill was reported missing from Royal Derby Hospital, in the East Midlands, the day after he was admitted for taking an overdose following the break-up of his marriage.

A huge search of the local area was conducted to find the 30-year-old in September 2014, but it was nearly four months before his body was found hanged in January 2015, just yards away from the hospital.

Haruna Danjuma, 40, has been arraigned before a magistrate’s court in Lagos, for assaulting a female police officer, Insp. Modupe Olowolagba, during official duty.

According to PM News, Danjuma, on June 20, 2016, punched the police officer on her chest, which led to a serious injury.

Sgt. Ishola Samuel, the prosecuting officer in the case, told the court that the suspect committed the act after he disobeyed a traffic light.

Olisa Metuh has agreed to return N400m To Show Support For Buhari’s Anti-corruption War

Olisa Metuh, former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says he is ready to return the “contentious” N400m as a sign of support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption war.

Metuh said this in a statement by his lawyer, Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), on Thursday.

The former PDP spokesman is facing trial at the federal high court, Abuja for allegedly receiving N400m being money for arms purchase from Sambo Dasuki, former national security adviser (NSA).

He  had said that the money was given to him by former President Goodluck Jonathan for media campaigns ahead of the 2015 presidential election, but on Thursday, he said he was willing to return the money as an honest citizen.

Boko Haram Suicide Bomber attach leaves 11 dead

A suicide bombing by a Boko Haram jihadist has killed 11 people in northern Cameroon, a provincial governor said Thursday, warning civilians not to breach special security measures aimed at preventing such attacks.

It was the latest in a spate of raids blamed on the Nigeria-based Islamist militant group in the area, which have driven tens of thousands of people from their homes.

A security source said the attacker blew himself up in the town of Djakana near the Nigerian border overnight. “Seven people were killed immediately, including the bomber,” the source said, adding that most of the victims were members of a local vigilante group tasked with hunting down Boko Haram fighters.

EFCC Witch Hunting Agency – Bishop Sam Oyede reacts over Freezing Of Fayose’s Account

The president of God’s Fountain of Life Bible Mission International Incorporated, Delta State, Bishop Sam Oyede, has reacted to the freezing of Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose’s personal bank account by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Oyede warned the commission to stop heating up the polity by posing as witch hunting agency adding that it was unconstitutional for the anti-graft agency to be stepping beyond its bounds.

Recall that Fayose recently had his personal accounts in Zenith Bank, Ekiti branch frozen by the EFCC over allegations that monies meant for the purchase of arms were paid into the accounts by the office of former national security adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

33-year-old Woman Raped, Murdered In Edo Community

The Police in Delta state has confirmed the rape and murder of a woman identified as Akhere Emujede at Ubiaja town, headquarters of Esan South Local Government.

The corpse of the 33-year-old was reportedly dumped in a church within the locality.
