EFCC Witch Hunting Agency – Bishop Sam Oyede reacts over Freezing Of Fayose’s Account

The president of God’s Fountain of Life Bible Mission International Incorporated, Delta State, Bishop Sam Oyede, has reacted to the freezing of Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose’s personal bank account by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Oyede warned the commission to stop heating up the polity by posing as witch hunting agency adding that it was unconstitutional for the anti-graft agency to be stepping beyond its bounds.

Recall that Fayose recently had his personal accounts in Zenith Bank, Ekiti branch frozen by the EFCC over allegations that monies meant for the purchase of arms were paid into the accounts by the office of former national security adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

Six gay men were attacked in Cote d’Ivoire and forced to flee their homes after they were pictured signing a condolence book for the victims of the recent attack at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida early this month. 33-year-old Woman Raped, Murdered In Edo Community

The Police in Delta state has confirmed the rape and murder of a woman identified as Akhere Emujede at Ubiaja town, headquarters of Esan South Local Government.

The corpse of the 33-year-old was reportedly dumped in a church within the locality.

Eyewitnesses, who spoke at the scene, said the victim’s throat was slit and vital organs removed from her body.

The Nation reports that she attended a church programme at a neighbouring village when she raped by unknown men and killed.

This current killing brought cases of suspected ritual killings in Ubiaja to seven within six days.

A Cameroonian man, Sharkan Lucas, on Wednesday made shocking revelations on how he took to having sex with dead bodies due to constant rejection from ladies because he works as a mortuary attendant.

Lucas, an attendant at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, insisted he was mentally stable. Speaking on Ghanaian TV station ADOM TV, the mortician claimed that sleeping with the dead women (an act called necrophilia) was part of the training he received when he was hired at the hospital in Ghana.

Pope Reacts To Hijab Crisis In Osun State

Pope Francis has called for peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, particularly residents of Osun State, irrespective of the socio-cultural and religious beliefs.

The Pope made the appeal during a visit of the Roman Catholic Church to Governor Rauf Aregbesola at the Government House in Osogbo, the state capital.

Men Parading themselves as Naval Officers Arrested in Rivers State

The Nigerian Navy yesterday handed over 11 suspects who were arrested for parading themselves as Naval personnel to the Rivers State Police Command for possible prosecution. Outgoing commander of Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Pathfinder, Port Harcourt, Commodore Sanusi Ibrahim, handed over the suspects to the officials of the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) of the State Command in the state capital.

Ibrahim said the suspects used navy uniforms and paraded themselves as ‘Merchant Navy’ with intent to defraud unsuspecting individuals and companies in the state and environs.

The outgoing Naval commander stated that the suspects were caught in the act by operatives of the 97 Special Operations Group (SOG), the Nigerian Air Force, Port Harcourt, who reported the matter to the Nigerian Navy.

Gov Aregbesola explains why He is running Osun State withour commissioners

Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has explained what is preventing his government from appointing commissioners since it was inaugurated in November 27, 2014.

Aregbesola, who spoke while breaking fast with journalists on Tuesday, said that the paucity of funds is the major reason behind the delay.

The governor noted that the government, as presently constituted, is going through harrowing experience, adding that the state is being run through ingenuity and goodwill.

Stressing that the dwindling allocation from the federal allocation has really affected the state, he stated that the appointment of commissioners would be additional burden which the state cannot presently afford.

73 year old woman sentences to death over drugs

A Vietnamese court has sentenced an elderly Australian woman to death for heroin trafficking, local media reported on Thursday.

The officials said that Nguyen Thi Huong, 73, left Ho Chi Minh City airport in December 2014 for Australia.

They also found 1.6 kilogrammes of heroin in her luggage disguised as 36 bars of soap.

Nigerian Navy pleads with Nigerians "Help Us Capture Tompolo"

Nigerians have been urged to assist security agencies with vi­tal information that can lead to the arrest of wanted for­mer Niger Delta militant leader, Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo.

The appeal came on Tuesday from the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas.

In an interaction with journalists in Warri, Ibas announced plans to upgrade the Nigerian Navy Second­ary School in Ibusa, Oshimi­li North Local Government Area of Delta State to a mar­itime university.

His disclosure raised fears that the Federal Gov­ernment may have finally dumped the controversial Nigerian Maritime Univer­sity in Okerenkoko in the same state.

Vice Admiral Ibas, who inspected facilities in na­val formations in the state, said the process of getting the university licenced for the operation was ongoing with the relevant agencies.

Nigeria Among World’s Most Unstable Countries according to Fund for Peace

The Fund for Peace, a Washington D.C.-based non-profit, non-governmental research and educational institution, has ranked Nigeria as one of the world’s most unstable countries.

In its 12th annual Fragile States Index (FSI) released Wednesday, Fund for Peace ranked Nigeria alongside war-torn Afghanistan, Haiti, Iraqi, Guinea, Pakistan, Burundi and Zimbabwe.

 It stated that the situation in Nigeria deteriorated in 2015 when compared with 2014.

Fund for Peace cited the economic downturn occasioned by the fall in oil price and the activities of Boko Haram in the North-eastern part of Nigeria for classifying Nigeria among countries where peace deteriorated in 2015.

Nigeria was also placed among countries classified as “high alert” meaning that the situation in Nigeria had worsened compared to the previous year.

Ojo Maduekwe, former minister of foreign affairs, has died at 71

The cause of his death is not clear as the former minister is not know to suffer any terminal ailment.

Maduekwe, who is from Abia state, has held several ministerial positions – notably minister of transport in the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

A 3-day-old baby girl in central California was allegedly mauled to death by her family’s dogs on Monday, police said.

The infant’s 33-year-old mother thought the two dogs (above)  reported as shar-pei and pit bull mixes, were restrained in the yard and did not pose a threat, police said.

Police said an officer fatally shot longtime gun rights advocate Christy Sheats, 42, after cops rushed to the Katy home to find her shooting at one of her daughters in the street.
