Alvaro Morata has joked that his former Juventus teammates Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli and Leonardo Bonucci have warned him to "wear a helmet" ahead of Spain's Euro 2016 clash with Italy.

Morata is likely to be leading the line for the current holders when they take on the Azzurri on Monday, with their defeat to Croatia on Tuesday having handed them a tie with the Group E winners.

The 23-year-old was bought back by Real Madrid for a reported €30million fee this week, after the La Liga giants triggered the buy-back clause in the forward's Juve contract.

Call for a Referendum to enable all Nigerians vote if they want to stay together - Niger Delta Avengers tells Buhari

Militant group, Niger Delta Avengers, on Saturday asked President Buhari to also call for a referendum on Nigeria just like his British counterpart David Cameron did yesterday June 24th.

The group said the referendum would help Nigerians decide if they still wanted to stay together.

The stated this in two tweets on their twitter handle. They also released a statement asking President Buhari to visit the Niger Delta region to see for himself the deprivation host communities have suffered in the hands of oil companies that operate in their communities.

An armed robbery suspect, Chris Oboko, a corporal attached to the C4I unit of the Nigeria Police in Rivers State, has told investigators how an informant “lured” him into a gang of car snatchers.

Thirty-five-year-old Oboko, who has now been dismissed from the force, was recently arrested in Port Harcourt.

According to him, the turning point for him was when he encountered two members of a robbery and kidnapping gang, who were in the process of selling the cars they got from one of their victims.

Oboko, who joined the force in 2003 said he was living at the police barracks on Iche Street, Borokiri, Port Harcourt, while ‘moonlighting’ as a robber.

Saturday PUNCH learnt that he first served at the Boroki Police Division, before being transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad. He told journalists that he became a member of the C4I unit after that.

Dr Marwan Farouk was supposed to repair a hernia and remove a cyst from his patient at the private BMI Chiltern Hospital in Buckinghamshire. But instead, he removed the entire right testicle and told staff to chuck it away - before refusing to tell the patient. 

The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service ruled on Wednesday that Farouk had been misleading or dishonest.

World Cup Qualification: NFF will push for an experienced coach

The Director of Communications, Nigeria Football Federation, Ademola Olajire, says the football house will engage an experienced coach to guide the Super Eagles’ during the 2018 World Cup qualification.

Olajire made the assertion while reacting to the draws for the 2018 World Cup in Russia in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lagos.

Nigeria is drawn alongside Zambia, Algeria and Cameroon in the draws made on Friday at the African Football Confederations (CAF) Headquarters in Egypt.

Cameroon has appeared seven times in the tournament, while Nigeria has featured five times and Algeria four times.

NAF acquires 10 Helicopters to enhance operations, also Awaiting 10 Others

Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, announced the planned increase on Friday during a visit by the Governor of Kaduna State, Mr Nasir El-Rufai.

Air Marshal Abubakar said the Air Force had acquired 10 helicopters and was awaiting 10 other training aircraft in a bid to enhance its operations to adequately support both the internal and external security challenges confronting the nation, in line with globally accepted standards.

Beyond the partnership, the Chief of Air Staff announced ongoing reforms in the Air Force aimed at further contributing to fighting Nigeria’s internal and external security challenges.
