Adekunle Gold is getting set to release his first studio album aptly titled GOLD. The singer has since had a photo shoot with famed photographer TY Bello which we posted this morning.

“When the thought to start working on album came, I was not sure what I wanted to call it. I prayed to God(as always) to give me a name.

I started talking to my friends to give me ideas. @miss_zbuhari and I were talking about the album title one evening and she mentioned “Gold” amongst many other names, but I dismissed the idea.

Resident Doctors Agree To Suspend On Going Strike Action

The leadership of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has agreed to suspend its strike after a meeting with other health sector stakeholders on Tuesday.

The Association’s leadership also appealed to members to suspend the strike until the next meeting scheduled for July 14.

Three have been people apprehended with multiple loaded guns, knives and ballistic vests at the Holland Tunnel Tuesday. This occurred when police stopped them for driving with a cracked windshield, according to authorities.

According to NBC, the three individuals, two men in their 50s and a woman in her 20s who may be from Pennsylvania, were stopped on the New Jersey side of the tunnel around 8 a.m., authorities said. A search of their vehicle revealed the weapons cache.

GUN CONTROL: Kim Kardashians Blast U.S Senate

Gladys Knight’s son, who runs the operation, is at the center of an investigation involving $1 million.

Agents removed computers, files, and the contents from safes within each establishment.

A rep for Gladys says that she “lent her name to her son’s restaurants in the Atlanta area, similar to a celebrity endorsement. Ms. Knight was not involved in any way with the operation of the restaurants and she is sure that her son and his business partners will rectify the situation.”

Nigerian Army Arrests Niger Delta Ex-Militant ... Breach of Amnesty agreement?

A former Niger Delta militant leader, Aboy Francis Muturu, also known as General Aboy, has been arrested by Nigerian soldiers from the 4th Brigade in Benin City, capital of Edo State.

According to reports, Mr. Muturu was arrested in the presence of his wife in the early hours of Friday, June 17, 2016, at his residence in Bomadi Town of Delta state. He was among the militants who accepted late President Musa Yar’Adua’s amnesty programme.

Beauty Aboy Muturu, wife of General Aboy, confirmed the arrest to journalists.

Since his arrest, the former militant leader has been held in an unknown destination and keep incommunicado from his lawyers and from his family.

Omes Ogedegbe, a Warri-based lawyer and counsel to General Aboy has threatened threatened legal action against the Nigerian Army.

Former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, (retd), has promised to continue to advise both the federal and state governments where necessary to move the country forward.

“I am ready and willing to continuously offer beneficial advice to the federal and state governments,” Babangida said in Minna, yesterday when he received the Chairman and members of the Niger State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by state chairman of PDP, Tanko Beji.

Zambia shutdown country’s largest Newspaper House

Zambian authorities on Tuesday closed down one of the country’s largest dailies, the Post Newspaper, in Lusaka, the newspaper has said.

In a message posted on its Twitter handle, @PostNewsZambia, the paper said its offices in Lusaka was shut down by Zambia Revenue Authority.

“ZRA has seized property halting operations at The Post newspaper printing plant in Lusaka.”

In a follow-up tweet, the paper tweeted, “The Government of the Republic of Zambia has today June 21, 2016, closed down Post Newspapers Limited. ”

Governor Mimiko: "Why EFCC lacks power to investigate, freeze Fayose’s accounts"

Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to caution the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, following the restriction placed on the account of Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose.

He described the action of the EFCC as an abuse of the Constitution.

Mr. Mimiko who spoke in his capacity as Chairman of PDP Governors’ Forum, condemned the freezing of Mr. Fayose’ s bank account.

Mr. Fayose raised the alarm on Monday that his Zenith Bank account had been frozen by the EFCC.

FG to deploy Special Military Squad To Tackle Kidnapping In Kogi State

The Nigerian government will deploy a special military squad to Kogi State to tackle kidnapping and other related crimes that have bedeviled the state in recent times, a military official said on Tuesday.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai, informed the Governor of the State, Mr. Yahaya Bello, of the planned deployment during a meeting with him at the State’s capital, Lokoja.

He said that the Federal Government was worried over the increase in kidnapping and other related crimes and was ready to curb the situation.

The Army Chief was in the state with some of his men on a working visit to the military formation to see the challenges facing them and proffer a solution to enable them to carry on with their constitutional responsibility of ensuring internal security.
