Nollywood actress, Liz DaSilva is currently in the news over a paternity scandal involving her 3-year-old son, Abdulroheem Olasunkanmi. The beautiful actress allegedly told his baby daddy, Yemi Olaoye, that he is not the father of her baby after he dumped her. Liz and her baby father, Yemi, are reportedly now at loggerheads after she recently confessed that the boy, born on June 16, 2013, is not his child.

If you recall, Liz DaSilva was one of the many Yoruba actresses linked to a popular NURTW boss based in Oshodi. In the course of the rumour, she became pregnant and speculations went rife that the socialite must be responsible for her protruding tummy. No sooner than she put to bed, Yemi Olaoye came to the scene. He claimed the baby and the insinuations of the baby being owned by the NURTW boss fizzled out.

The Federal Government has ordered the sack of striking resident doctors in tertiary institutions in the country.

The Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, in a circular signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Amina Shamaki directed chief medical directors and medical directors of Federal government  tertiary health institutions to fill the vacancies created by resident doctors who have abandoned their programme.

Resident doctors in government hospitals embarked on a nationwide strike on Monday this week.

EVIL: Two Men Arrested for R*ping Innocent 6-year-old Girl in Kaduna

The two men identified as Yahaya Umar and Muhammed Auwal have been arrested by the Kaduna State Police Command for allegedly raping the 6-year-old girl.

DSP Abubakar Zubairu, the Command spokesman, while parading the suspects before newsmen on Monday, said the duo was arrested and had been in their custody since June 13 when they committed the act at about 1p.m on Soba Street, Tudun Wada Area in the state.

The spokesman said, “The duo, aged 67, and 30-year-old respectively, were arrested following a complaint by the parents of the girl.

U.S Government partner with Nigerian Air Force to provide medical service to IDPs

The United States Government is partnering with the Nigerian Air Force in its medical outreach efforts for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

The support was announced by the Deputy Head of Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria, Mary Brewer, in Maiduguri after a tour of the Air Force Hospital in Dalori camp, home to over 20,000 Internally Displaced Persons.

Brewer’s visit to Maiduguri is to obtain a firsthand assessment of facilities and usage of equipment to chart a course for new partnerships.

A ceramic vase which was used to support an open door for more than 30 years has been revealed as a rare Chinese relic worth £1 million.

According to UK Mirror, an auctioneer stumbled across the 26in tall vase when visiting a couple's modest bungalow. After enquiring about its origins, he discovered the owners had inherited it in 1980 from their late great-aunt Florence, a Cornish antique dealer.

Their children had even played ball games around it when growing up without realising its importance and value.

Gov. Ambode Signs Deal to make Lagos 'First Smart City in Africa'

Lagos State government has signed a deal to draw from the success of Dubai's innovative knowledge-based industry clusters to empower business growth for companies and knowledge for workers all over the world. 

In a partnership that authorities say will see Lagos emerge as 'the first Smart City in Africa', the Lagos State Government and the City of Dubai on Monday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Lagos Smart City at the Emirate Towers, Dubai, by the Lagos State Commissioner of Justice, Adeniji Kazeem and the Chief Executive Officer of Smart City Dubai LLC, Jabber Bin Hafez.

According to reports, the signing of the MOU was witnessed by the Chairman of Dubai Holdings, Ahmad Bin Byat who is also the Deputy Prime Minister and the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

EFCC sue woman for attempting to export counterfeit travellers cheques

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday June 20, arraigned Favour Omeigba Bello before Justice (Prof) Chuka Augustine Obiozor of the Federal High Court of Lagos State, Ikoyi on 3-count charge bordering on attempt to export counterfeit, Possession of counterfeit and forgery.

The accused, Bello, was arrested by officials of the NDLEA on January 16, 2016 at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, during the outward clearance of passengers on Ethiopian Airline to Dubai and was later transferred to the EFCC for further investigation.
