Chinese Company invent Unmanned Drone to Deliver Online Goods to Customer

Chinese company has beaten Amazon by delivering online goods by unmanned drone. E-commerce giants Jingdong has already begun using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to deliver goods to customers in rural areas. The drones can carry loads of up to 15 kilograms with a top speed of 15 meters per second.

Two drones are being used in Suqian City, east China’s Jiangsu Province, in areas with low populations and fewer order. The firm also hopes to increase the weight that can be transported by drone to 30kg.

Boko Haram's Charm Book for indoctrinate followers Found in Borno

A Nigerian official said on Sunday that his agency had discovered a “spiritual book” suspected to be used by the Boko Haram to indoctrinate their victims.

The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, in Borno, Ibrahim Abdullahi, disclosed this in Maiduguri in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.

Mr. Abdullahi said that the book, written in Arabic, was discovered during an operation by the corps officials at an abandoned house in Dikwa Local Government Area of the state.

The Presidency has threatened litigation against Nnamdi Nwokocha, a lawyer, over comments he made about the issue of President Muhammadu Buhari's certificate during an interview

In an interview with journalists in Abuja on Sunday, the Presidential Senior Special Assistant to the on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, blasted a lawyer, Nnamdi Nwokocha, over his public comment on a pending suit on President Muhammadu Buhari’s certificate.

Shehu faulted a recent interview Nwokocha granted a national newspaper saying it is unfair for a lawyer who is a litigant in a case pending in court to hijack the power of a judge by declaring the President guilty of what he is accused of on the pages of newspapers.

EFCC Forced Me to Pay N40m for My Release - Air Force Chief

Indicted ‎former Air Officer in charge of Tactical Air Command, Makurdi, Air Vice Marshal [AVM] Rufus Ojuawo has revealed to a Federal High Court in Abuja how the anti-graft body, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) allegedly strong-armed him into paying an odious sum of N40 million to secure his freedom from incarceration, ThisDay reports.

The complainant is currently under house arrest at House 27, Niger Barracks, Asokoro, Abuja on the orders of the EFCC. The accused also stated that his Range Rover SUV was forcefully taken from him by EFCC operatives against his will which is contrary to their report.

Actor Anton Yelchin dies in car crash at age 27

Anton Yelchin, a charismatic and rising actor best known for playing Chekov in the new “Star Trek” films, has died at the age of 27. He was killed in a fatal traffic collision early Sunday morning, his publicist, Jennifer Allen confirmed.

Yelchin started small with roles in indie films and various television shows, before breaking out in films like the crime thriller “Alpha Dog” and the teenage comedy “Charlie Bartlett.” His biggest role to date has been in the rebooted “Star Trek” films — the third of which, “Star Trek Beyond” comes out in July.

EFCC Rushes Former Adamawa Governor to the Hospital

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has taken the former acting governor of Adamawa state, James Bala Ngilari, to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe for medical treatment. 

The former governor was rushed to the hospital after complaining of ill health. He was taken to the hospital in an on Friday around 6pm after he complained of ill health.

An American man on trial in Taiwan for marijuana possession decided he’d rather die than go to prison.

According to the Taipei Times, 41-year-old U.S. citizen Tyrel Martin Marhanka took his life inside the courtroom as soon as the judge handed over his four-year sentence. Tyrel had lived in Taiwan for over 15 years where he was married to a Taiwanese woman and had a son in second grade as well as a daughter in kindergarten, said court officials.

Suspected Boko Haram fighters killed 20 people who were attending the 40th day prayer for some deceased members of Kuda village in Adamawa state.

Residents of the village said some of them were gathered at their village square to celebrate their deceased kinsmen when the suspected sect members came in from Sambisa forest and opened fire on them. the terrorist destroyed some homes during the attack.

The suspect identified as Sunk Kun, who has been residing in Lagos for 5 years, was arrested after one of the assassins who he paid N1.4 million to kill his business partner was arrested. Parading the Chinese man and the Hired assassin before newsmen in Lagos today, the Lagos state police commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, said majority of the money paid to the hired assassin has been recovered.

Former Minister of State for Defence Sues EFCC N100m Over Invasion, Seizure of Properties

Former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro yesterday slammed an N100 million suit on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) before the Federal High Court in Lagos over an alleged breached of his fundamental human rights.

The former Minister is demanding the sum as general damages for the alleged unlawful and unconstitutional seizure and detention of several items, properties and personal effects belonging to him and family by the EFCC on June 24, 2016.

Other applicants in the suit are Mrs Fati Obanikoro, Alhaja Moroophat Obanikoro, Gbolahon Obanikoro, Babajide Obanikoro.

46 Cult and Murder Suspects Paraded In Calabar

The Cross River State police command, on Wednesday, paraded 46 cult, murder, kidnapping, and armed robbery suspects at the force headquarters.

Briefing newsmen in Calabar, the commissioner of police, Mr.  Jimoh Ozi-Obeh, said the suspects were arrested between May 2 – June 14, 2016, in various locations across the state.

According to Ozi-Obeh, some of the cult suspects, including one Felix Okon Etim, a member of Vikings confraternity, had confessed being initiated into the cult group in October, 2015.
