Singer, Omawumi granted an interview to an Online TV- HfTV Africa. However, the interview turned sour after the interviewer asked the mother of two to address rumors that she smokes and drink…Which got Omawumi totally pissed and irritated.

“I won’t honor you with a response, i feel like that is a teeth (sic) to my character“. “Have you seen me smoking before? So why will you say that? Now you see me as an artiste, i am contributing what i can, i make music the way as i should and i came here i honored your invitation, and then you sit there and ask me about me smoking and drinking to people that are listening and you are supposed to mean me well when these people are supposed to be the ones that buy my music. When you say that kind of thing, do you mean me well?”

The Oba of Benin Kingdom is dead

Reports from DAILY POST have it that the Oba of Benin, Omo n'Oba Erediauwa Akpolokpolo I, is dead.

The monarch's death was announced few minutes ago by the Iyase of Benin Kingdom, Chief Sam Igbe.

Prior to his death, the traditional ruler of Benin Kingdom in Edo State was reported to have been battling with an unknown illness, which started since last year.

A student of the University of Lagos identified as Oreoluwa Sokan has been declared missing by the police after family members hinted that he has not returned home since Thursday with his whereabouts unknown.

Drama at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos yesterday as a ‘pregnant’ woman was delivered of a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.

In a statement signed by Mitchell Ofoyeju, NDLEA spokesperson, the woman, a 41-year-old mother of 3, Dorothy Onyekas pretended to be pregnant but was instead carrying 86 pellets of white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine.

The statement said “The drug was intercepted during the inward screening of passengers on an Emirates flight from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The substance has a total weight of 1.720 kilogrammes with an estimated street value of N20.6 million.”

Interest Rates Will Go Up - CBN Governor

Godwin Emefiele, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria has revealed that the country’s monetary policy rate would still have to go up.

He said based on rising inflation rates, the monetary policy rate (MPR) would have to rise.

He was speaking on Saturday at the International Monetary Fund headquarters in Washington.

“Truly, Nigerians really expect that if they want to access finance, they should do so under a low interest regime,” he said.

Presidency: "No loan deal during Buhari’s visit to China"

The Presidency has said President Muhammadu Buhari did not sign any loan agreement with the Peoples Republic of China during his one-week working visit to the Asian country.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, revealed to Punch Newspapers on Saturday, that “there was no loan deal during the President’s visit to China. All that is coming are investments into Nigeria.”

Rather, the presidential spokesperson said Buhari’s trip yielded over $6bn additional investments for Nigeria.

Rihanna launch ‘Fenty Beauty’ Makeup Line

"Work" singer and work hitmaker, Rihanna’s empire is expanding to include a complete makeup collection. The line, called ‘Fenty Beauty by Rihanna,’ comes in collaboration with the Kendo division of LVMH and is set to arrive Fall 2017.
