Ex FIFA Blatter says He will always be a president

Sepp Blatter insisted he will "always be a president" as the suspended FIFA boss prepares to officially vacate his position at world football's governing body.

FIFA will usher in a new era at the presidential election in Zurich on Friday, with Gianni Infantino, Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim al-Khalifa, Prince Ali bin al-Hussein, Jerome Champagne and Tokyo Sexwale vying for presidency.

All this comes as Blatter serves out a reduced six-year ban for a "disloyal payment" of two million Swiss francs (£1.3million) made to UEFA boss Michel Platini in 2011.

PHOTO: Nigerian Student including two Other African Students Die in a Fatal Crash

A Nigerian student and two other African students of Manchester University, UK, died and a fourth injured when a van driven by a man who authorities say was intoxicated struck them on Sunday, February 21.

Deangelo R. Evans is facing charges in connection with the crash. The 26-year-old from Chicago, was charged with three counts of operating while intoxicated causing death, one count of OWI resulting in serious bodily injury, and three counts of reckless homicide.

The crash happened shortly before 5:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes near mile marker 253. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, it appears that the students’ van was stopped in the median with a flat tire.

Ekiti State Governor has approve N237m car loan for workers

The Governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose has approved the sum of N237m as car loan to workers in the state civil service.

According to the state  commissioner for Finance, Toyin Ojo, the grade levels of the workers were taken into consideration, during selection.

He also said the civil servants will get up to N1.5 million loan, paid in full.

The Lagos State Police Command on Friday, February 19 paraded three members of the gang that allegedly robbed the Festac branch of popular online retailer, Jumia on October 29, 2015. The gang looted N1.2 million in cash, phones, laptops and clothes.

The gang was smashed following a tip-off received by the Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) that a member of the gang identified as Ogaga Pemu had arranged with someone to service his operational German pistol and also provide magazines for the weapon, The Nations reports.

According to Pemu, who was arrested at Joe Baddy Hotel in Mende, Maryland, Yohanna who worked for JUMIA provided his gang information on the company in exchange for N200,000.
