In a new twist to the lawsuit filled against Nick Gordon, Late Bobbi Kristina's family are now accusing Nick of murder. 

An amendment to the $40m lawsuit filed against him by Bobbi Kristina's family gives a chilling timeline of what they claim happened in the hours before she was found unresponsive in her bathtub on January 31st.

Bangladesh blogger hacked to death for atheist views

Popular blogger Niloy Chakrabarti, who used the pen-name Niloy Neel, 40, was killed yesterday Friday August 7th after a gang armed with machetes broke into his home in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was well known for his atheist views and anti-Islamic writings.

"They entered his room in the fifth floor and shoved his friend aside and then hacked him to death. He was a listed target of the Islamist militants," Imran H. Sarker, head of Bangladesh Blogger and Activist Network told AFP

Barca new signing Arda Turan won't be going on loan

Barcelona recruit Arda Turan insisted returning to former club Galatasaray on loan was never an option.

Turan moved to La Liga champions Barca from rivals Atletico Madrid for an initial fee of €34million last month, though the Turkey international midfielder is not eligible to make his debut until January due to the club's transfer ban.

Galatasaray, where Turan emerged from the youth ranks before joining Atletico in 2011, were considered a short-term solution for the 28-year-old.

President Buhari Gets Award For Integrity

President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday received an award for integrity from the Ministry of Defence.

The award was handed over to the President in Abuja by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Defence at the graduation ceremony for graduates of the National Defence Collage of Nigeria.

President Buhari is known for his zero-tolerance stance on corruption, which he had reiterated during his campaign and in an inaugural speech on the day he was sworn-in as the President. This may have triggered the award.

PDP kick against $75 Million World Bank Loan Request by APC

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are trading words over a $75 million loan requested from the World Bank by the State government.

Although the State government controlled by the APC is still waiting for the approval from the National Assembly, the PDP is kicking against the loan request.

Speaking to Channels Television on Friday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, the Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Chris Nehikharie, alleged that Governor Adams Oshiomhole would further worsen the state’s debt profile by taking the loan.

ISIL Claims Responsibility For Saudi Mosque Suicide Blasts

The Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), has claimed responsibility for a suicide attack on a mosque in southwest Saudi Arabia that killed at least 15 people, the group said in a statement on Thursday.

One of its fighters wearing an explosive belt triggered the blast, the ISIL statement said.

The blast, which was triggered by a suicide bomber, killed 15 people at a mosque inside a Special Forces headquarters in Saudi Arabia near the border with Yemen.

PDP dare EFCC to investigate APC former Governors

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday challenged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate the corrupt leaders and members of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The Acting National Chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, gave the challenge when he received a delegation of members PDP in the senate at Legacy House, the party’s campaign office in Abuja. Secondus, who called for President Muhamadu Buhari intervention, said that the anti-graft agency was only investigating PDP members in its anti-corruption war leaving those who served under APC.

Police arraign Lecturer who allegedly raped an 18 year old UNILAG admission seeker

The police on Thursday arraigned a part-time lecturer, Afeez Baruwa, for allegedly raping an 18-year-old admission seeker. An accusation Baruwa said was false, he said the act was consensual.

 

The 42-year-old lecturer was arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Lagos on Thursday.

The 18 year old victim and her father were in the court premises with agony written on their faces.

The lecturer’s wife and other relatives were also observed in the court. Baruwa was arraigned by the police on one count of rape.
