Olympic athlete Tyson Gay paid tribute to his daughter, Trinity, at her funeral in Lexington, Kentucky, on Saturday, October 22, nearly a week after she was shot and killed at age 15.
“This is our community that we need to take back. A lot of kids are followers now,” Tyson said, via Entertainment Tonight. “We need to be there for each other but I need everyone’s help from the mayor to the police to all of you to allow her legacy to keep moving.”
Tyson also posted a photo from the memorial.
“SPECIAL THANKS TO MY TRACK FAMILY FOR SUPPORTING TRINITY. I LOVE YOU GUYS. FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD,” he captioned via Instagram.
