Oyo State | Governor Ajimobi warns traders against street trading
Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has warned that traders who prefer to display and sell their wares by the roadsides instead of moving into the neighborhood market stalls freely allocated to them by the state government will soon lose them.
Ajimobi while restating the government’s decision against street trading during an unscheduled visit to the neighbourhood market at the Scout Camp, Molete, Ibadan, on Thursday lamented the loss of lives and property attributed to street trading in some parts of the state.
Plane carrying 188 passengers turns back after suspected tail strike in India
Indian officials say a Jet Airways plane with 188 people on board Friday returned back to the airport in the Indian city of Mumbai, following a suspected tail strike.
All the passengers, including eight crew members in the plane destined to Bangkok, were immediately deplaned.
Okezie Ikpeazu remains Governor of Abia state after victory in Supreme Court
The Supreme Court, Friday morning, affirmed Okezie Ikpeazu as the Governor of Abia State. The case was filed by Uche Ogah who had accused Ikpeazu of allegedly submitting false tax information to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Ikpeazu defeated Ogah in the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, primaries ahead of the 2015 gubernatorial election in the state.

David Beckham makes acting debut in ‘King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword’
Former footballer and England national team captain, David Beckham has made acting debut in a new classical movie “King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword.”
The ex-international made cameo appearance in the trailer of the highly awaited blockbuster released on Tuesday ahead of the film’s premiere on May 19. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Beckham, who also played for Manchester United , having conquered the world of football, now appears to be turning his attention to acting.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki reveals how herdsmen get their weapons
Senate President Bukola Saraki has revealed that some of the armed herdsmen in the country acquire their weapons from neighbouring countries.
