Google has opened a crisis funds worth $4 million for persons affected by Donald Trump's Immigration ban.
According to Billboard, Google has seeded a $2M crisis fund, which they plan to grow to $4M. The fund's purpose is to help organizations dedicated to fighting for immigrant rights.
They hope that the additional $2M will be raised via donation from its employees.
So far the organizations benefiting from the fund are the American Civil Liberties Union, the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, the International Rescue Committee and the U.N. Refugee Agency.
“It’s painful to see the personal cost of this executive order on our colleagues,” Sundar Pichai, Google's CEO wrote in a memo. “We’ve always made our view on immigration issues known publicly and will continue to do so.”
