So Sweet! Student proposes to his long-term girlfriend at his graduation ceremony

A graduating student of the University of South Wales "wow" the crowd as he requested is girlfriend of ten years to marry him at his graduation ceremony, and of course she said Yes!

Redmond Jenkins, 29, popped the question to his stunned partner of 10 years, Kelly Jones, at the University of South Wales ceremony in Treforest.

As he walked across the stage to pick up his First Class Honours degree, the civil engineer stopped and addressed the audience, Wales Online reports.

He said: "I've come along with my gorgeous girlfriend. We've been together for 10 years."
He added: "Kelly Jones, will you marry me?"
The mum-of-two, who was sat just a few rows from the front of the stage on Monday, said she felt weak at the proposal.
She shouted "Yes!" to a round of applause from the audience and Redmond's fellow graduates.
The couple, from Tonyrefail, met at a party 10 years ago and have been together ever since.

Redmond and Kelly now have two sons together, Macsen Rees, aged four, and Dylan Rees, aged two.

Kelly, 25, who works for Redmond’s dad’s ice cream company, Sub Zero, said: "It took me by surprise. I didn't think he'd do it on his big day!
"As soon as it comes to him walking across the stage, he just stopped. I just thought 'oh my God'.
"I just completely went weak, I couldn't believe it! I did shout 'yes'."
Kelly was sat with her future mother-in-law Alison in the audience.

She said when they arrived home in Tonyrefail, they were greeted with engagement banners and bottles of bubbly to celebrate.

Kelly said the couple plan to get married in around two years time after they move into their new home.
She added: "I love him to pieces. It was a lovely day.
"His words were 'I'm a special person to him, I should be up on the stage in the limelight'."
