Army Chief: We Have Zero Tolerance For Human Rights Abuse

The Nigerian Army says it will continue to maintain zero tolerance for Human Rights abuses in the ongoing anti-terror war in the North East.

Maj. Gen. Lucky Irabor, the Theatre Commander of Operation, Lafiya Dole, gave the assurance Monday while receiving a delegation from the UN Security Council in Maiduguri.

Irabor said that troops deployed to the theatre were made to undergo special training on code of conduct before their deployment.

A commercial motorcyclist popularly known as Okada rider Sunday Adekunle, 25, has brutalised Sunday Braimoh, a worker in the Press department of The Nation.

The incident occurred near The Nation office on Fatai Atere Way, Matori, Mushin, Lagos last Thursday.Braimoh was injured on his left eye.

The victim was attacked in front of a plastic manufacturing firm by Adekunle and four other men. They beat, dragged him on the ground and left him with a bruised face.

Police arrest 12 Lagos women for selling new Naira notes at parties

Police, in conjunction with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), have arrested 12 women for selling naira notes in parts of Lagos State, NewTelegraph reports.

The women were allegedly selling mint naira notes to people going to parties to ‘spray’ celebrates. They are likely to be charged for contravening Section 21 of the CBN Act, 2007.
