This happened about eight months ago, and I’ve tried to be reasonable and put it past me but I’m really struggling.

I’ve been told what he did was reasonable, makes sense, etc, but I keep coming back to that moment of total abandonment and fear when I realized he’d run. I just feel completely alone around him now.

More than 600 assorted small arms, ammunitions, grenades, automatic and semi-automatic weapons, etc. was submitted by suspected criminal elements in Benue state during the amnesty program of Governor Samuel Ortom’s administration. The ammunitions were displayed during the commencement of the arms destruction exercise of the illegal weapons in the state on Tuesday, November 11. The weapons were said to be handed to these youths by the last administration.

According to the Katsina Emirate Council, 14 year old Habiba's marriage to Emir Abdulmumin Usman, is "irreversible"!

The council said the marriage and Isa’s conversion to Islam were voluntarily and willingly entered into by the girl.

The City of Benin Wears New Looks for Oba’s Coronation


The capital of Edo, Benin City, wears new look ahead of the coronation of the new monarch, Oba of Benin, Prince Eheneden Eradiauwa, on Thursday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that major buildings to be used for the coronation, such as the Palace, Urohkpota hall and some traditional grounds, are now wearing a new look.

NAN reports that the palace structure that had not been renovated for decades had also been extensively transformed and renovated in preparation for the coronation of the new monarch.

Nigerian Army: No disquiet in the military over Chibok girls’ release


Nigerian army has debunked claims widely publicised in some national dailies and some online media that the military said it has no knowledge of the release of 21 Chibok girls by the Islamist Boko Haram sect.

In a release made available to newsmen on Saturday, the military said it is working in harmony with sister security agencies to ensure the freedom of the remaining girls as well as rid the country totally of the terrorist group. It, however, said negotiations for the girls’ release solely rests on the shoulders of the politicians and not the military.

980 students fail Nigerian Law School exams


Nearly one in five students who sat for the August/ September 2016 final examinations of the Nigerian Law School, failed and will not be called to the bar, official results have shown.

The result contained in a statement signed by the executive director of the Nigerian Law School, Olanrewaju Anadeko, shows that 17.8 percent of the student who sat in the last examination failed and will not be called to bar this November.

Buhari’s Aide: Nigeria is not obligated to obey ECOWAS Court ruling on Dasuki


The Nigerian government is not obligated to obey a ruling of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, Court that a former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, be released from the custody of the State Security Service, a presidential aide has said.

The ECOWAS Court, on October 4, had declared the continued detention of Mr. Dasuki unlawful, arbitrary and a violation of his right to liberty.

The former NSA is accused of misspending billions of dollars meant for procurement of arms for fight against Boko Haram. The government also accuses him of illegal possession of firearms.
Mr. Dasuki was arrested in December 2015, and has been in detention since then.

Shooting in San Francisco: Cop critically injured; suspect in custody


A San Francisco police officer was critically injured, but was expected to survive, after being shot in the head Friday night, officials said. An injured suspect was also in custody, according to police.

The officer the first San Francisco police officer shot in the line of duty in nearly 10 years — was injured about 8:15 p.m. near the Lakeshore Plaza shopping center at Sloat Boulevard and Everglade Drive while responding to reports of a mentally disturbed person, police said. 

The officer, who was not identified, was at San Francisco General Hospital in critical condition, said hospital spokesman Brent Andrews. The officer is expected to survive, Officer Carlos Manfredi said. The suspect also was at S.F. General.

Emir of Kano wants stiffer penalties for persons involve in child marriage

Armed Men abducts American aid worker in Niger


An American aid worker has been kidnapped in a town northeast of Niger’s capital Niamey, before being taken by his abductors to Mali, according to a security source.

Armed men raided the house of the aid worker on Friday, killing his two guards before driving him off across the desert, the mayor of the town of Abalak said on Saturday.
“First they came on a motorbike and killed the guards,” the mayor told Reuters news agency by phone. “Then a 4×4 came and took him away and drove towards the Mali border.”
