6,000 Nigerians will lose their jobs if MTN leaves Nigeria #XenophobicAttack

The aftermath of the protest over the past few days calling on boycott of all South Africa own companies in Nigeria, MTN Nigeria has cried out that about 6,000 Nigerians will lose their jobs if the company is made to leave Nigeria. 

Head of Communications MTN, Mr Wale Goodluck said this while reacting to calls by a protest group in Edo state yesterday that the telecommunications offices in Nigeria will be shut and their installations attacked if the xenophobic attacks in South Africa continues.

19years Australian accuses Nigerian man of brutal rape in Bali, Indonesia

An Australian nationality Audrey Pekin (19yrs Old), has narrate how she was allegedly raped twice by a Nigerian man who she identified as Henry Alafu, while on holiday in Bali with her family last Christmas. 

Speaking with Channel 9's A Current Affair, Audrey said she met Henry at a party and a few days later, he called to tell her there was a party happening at a villa and asked her if she wanted to come. She agreed. But instead of taking her to the party, Henry allegedly took her to where he was staying and there, he allegedly raped her.

Ex Egyptian President, Mohamed Morsi sentenced to 20 years in prison

An Egyptian criminal court in Cairo, Egypt's capital has sentenced former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi to 20 years in prison over the killing of protesters in 2012. The former President's supporters attacked opposition protesters outside the presidential palace in December 2012, sparking clashes that killed at least 10 people.

Delivering judgement today, Judge Ahmed Youssef dropped the murder charges against Morsi and said the sentence was instead linked to the “show of force” against protesters & unlawful detentions. Morsi who is Egypt's first freely elected president came into office in 2011 after the overthrow of Hosni Mubarak. He was ousted by the army in 2013.

Group barricade MTN office in Edo, threaten to shut down South African businesses in Nigeria #XenophobicAttack

Human Rights group under the aegis of 'The Flagship' today barricaded the MTN office in Benin city, Edo state during a protest over the current Xenophobic attacks in South Africa. 

The group called on the South African government to immediately resolve the issues or they will shut down South African businesses here in Nigeria.

FG & WHO confirm methanol as cause of disease in Ondo mystery disease

The Federal Ministry of Health and World Health Organization, WHO, say that the consumption of contaminated alcohol (gin) is believed to be responsible for the outbreak of the strange disease that has claimed at least 18 lives in Ondo state. At a joint press conference today, the Minister of State for Health, Mr Fidelis Nwankwo said the disease is not in anyway related to Ebola virus disease as was earlier speculated.

23 year old female stabbed colleague to death over an argument in Ogun State

A 23 year old Yusuf Monsurat, student of D.S. Adegbenro Polytechnic, Itori, Ogun State has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly stabbing her colleague, Eric Moses, to death in their school hostel following an argument on March 17th. 

According to Tribune, Monsurat who claims not to know how the incident happened, was a close friend of the deceased until she began to suspect him of being a cult member. This made her withdraw from him and even withdrew more after Eric confessed to her that he was indeed a cult member.
