Drama at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos yesterday as a ‘pregnant’ woman was delivered of a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
In a statement signed by Mitchell Ofoyeju, NDLEA spokesperson, the woman, a 41-year-old mother of 3, Dorothy Onyekas pretended to be pregnant but was instead carrying 86 pellets of white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine.
The statement said “The drug was intercepted during the inward screening of passengers on an Emirates flight from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The substance has a total weight of 1.720 kilogrammes with an estimated street value of N20.6 million.”
