#AFCON: Guinea Progress via Lot over Mali in Group D


Guinea and Mali both where tie with same point and goals aggregate so to decide who progress a lot was casted and Guinea was lucky to be picked.

Guinea will now meet Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final after progressing at the expense of Mali in the drawing of lots to decide Group D.

Bird Flu Updates: Minister Confirms 11 States Affected in Nigeria



Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Akinwumi Adesina, on Wednesday confirmed the outbreak of bird flu in 11 states of the federation.

Adesina announced that the Federal Government had approved N145 million to compensate farmers affected by the outbreak of the disease.

He made the disclosure at an emergency meeting on Avian Influenza with state commissioners for agriculture in Abuja.

Barca wrapped up a 4-2 aggregate win over two legs on Wednesday with a 3-2 second-leg victory at the Vicente Calderon - which was marred by the sending off of two of the hosts' players by referee Jesus Gil.
 

Danjuma: Tompolo, Dokubo Are irresponsible Individuals, they should be Arrested over War Threats


Former Defence Minister, Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, has called for the arrest of Asari Dokubo, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, General Boyloaf and other Niger Delta ex-militants over recent war threats.

Speaking to newsmen at the permanent site of the multi-billion naira North-West University, Kano, Danjuma described the statements from the ex-militants as reckless and irresponsible.

“Those were reckless statements coming from irresponsible individuals; they should be condemned and be arrested immediately”.

President Obama visit Saudi Arabia to Pay respect to new King


The United States President has visited Saudi Arabia to pay is respect to the late King and also to pledge his support for the new installed King. Obama visited the new king, Salman on Tuesday, January 27 to pay his respects and to discuss the future relationship between the two countries, who are strong allies.

The US President had cut short a state visit to India in order to travel to the Middle-Eastern country before returning to Washington.

CAF to conduct Lots to decide who qualify between Mali and Guinea to the Quarter Finals

 
I have heard this happens in football but I never thought it could happen in our modern day football where you can go head-to-head, goals against and for, number of goals considered and number of goals scored in the group and so many other factors. But here its happening in AFCON, the drawing of lots will be required to decide whether Guinea or Mali qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals.

Guinea and Mali will be forced to draw lots on Thursday to decide who qualifies for the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals after they drew 1-1 in their final group fixture.

Nigerian military Replies Amnesty International says Report on Baga, Monguno inaccurate, unfair

 
On the follow up report on the report by Amnesty International, The Nigerian military has hit back at on their claim that it ignored repeated warnings of an impending attack on Baga and Monguno and also failed to take measures to protect the civilian population of the surrounding towns and villages describing the allegation as “misleading”, “inaccurate and unfair.”
